Data Storage

All your data is stored locally in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers.

• Plant identification history is stored in your browser's IndexedDB
• Bookmarks and preferences are stored in localStorage
• No user accounts or authentication required
• Your data never leaves your device except when using AI features

AI Plant Identification

When you use our AI plant identification feature:

• Your plant photo is sent to Vercel AI Gateway for processing
• The image is analyzed to identify the plant species
• We do not store your images on our servers
• Vercel's AI Gateway processes images according to their privacy policy

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve PlantWise.

• Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated
• No personally identifiable information is collected
• We do not track users across other websites

Third-Party Services

PlantWise uses minimal third-party services:

• Vercel AI Gateway: For AI-powered plant identification
• Ahrefs Analytics: For privacy-focused website analytics

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Clear your browsing data to remove all PlantWise data
• Use the "Clear History" buttons in the app to delete specific data
• Export your data as JSON from the Saved page
• Import previously exported data to restore your collection
